Green, it's everywhere these days.

From the food we eat to the products we use, customers want to be more environmentally friendly and companies are responding.
從我們吃的食物到使用的產品,消費者想要有對環境更加友善的消費行為,而企業也與之反映在產品上。

In fact, the number of products marketed as green has exploded.
事實上,被標記為「綠色」的產品已經爆炸性的提升。

Growing by more than 200 percent in just 2 years.
在短短兩年內就成長了超過200%。

But environmental responsibility is about more than just creating a new green product or starting an eco-friendly initiative.
但環境責任不僅僅是創造一種新的綠色產品或啟動一項環保倡議。

It's about incorporating sustainability into every aspect of what you do.

At Dell, this means a lifecycle approach with programs and initiatives that reduce environmental impact at every stage.

It all begins with design.

Dell works to meet eco label standards like Energy Star and epeat for many products, focusing on energy efficiency, recyclability and smart material choices.

In a single year, Dell shipped over 7 million pounds of post-consumer recycled plastic and select monitors and systems.

That's the equivalent of over 260 million recycled water bottles.

The next step is to build responsibly.

Dell purchases enough renewable energy to meet approximately 21 percent of its global energy needs, including 100 percent of the energy needs of Dells Texas headquarters and six other facilities around the world.

When a product is ready to ship, Dell reduces waste by shrinking product packaging and working to consolidate multiple products in one box.

Much of Dells packaging and cushioning can be recycled curbside and use this material such as sustainably harvested bamboo, and post consumer plastics made from recycled milk jugs and detergent bottles.

The environmental impact during a customer's use is also important.

Sometimes without the need for power-hungry cooling equipment.

And through Dells virtualization services, customers can consolidate servers to further save on energy and lower costs.

In one case, taking a company from 135 data centers down to just four.

After a product has reached the end of its life, Dell makes it easy for customers to recycle.

Dell offers global business recycling in over 35 countries.

And today, its customers have helped to recycle or reuse more than 600 million pounds of e-waste, the equivalent weight of 1,000 jumbo jets.

Recycling starts the process again.

As Dell looks to incorporate recycled materials into the design of new products, this lifecycle approach to environmental responsibilities shows why, to Dell, Green is more than a catchphrase.
