On April 24, 2013, over 1,100 people working in a garment factory were killed in the Rana Plaza building collapse in Bangladesh.
2013年四月二十四日,1,100人不幸在孟加拉國薩瓦區大樓倒塌事故中身亡。
The tragedy brought Bangladesh and the abysmal conditions of its garment industry into international spotlight.

Five years down the lines, things should have improved and they did,to a certain extend.

But a new survey by Center of Business and Human Rights at New York University’s Stern School of Business says that much retains to be done.

I did not work after Rana Plaza(factory collapse). I took a job at a garment factory, but after one or two days there, I had the feeling that the floor was shaking or the building would fall down. I was afraid, and after one or two days, I couldn’t work anymore. Two years after the collapse, I took up a job here.
在大樓倒塌事件後,我就沒有繼續在那工作了。當時我在成衣工廠工作,但是過了一兩天後,我總是有地板在震動、建築好像要倒榻的錯覺。當時我很害怕,過了一兩天後我根本無法繼續工作。熱那大廈倒榻後兩年,我才又在這裡重新找到工作。
Desperate for money, Khadiza went to work for Snowtex outerwear Ltd. Factory, a 42 million US dollars complex built after the 2013 tragedy.

Khadiza is happy with the facilitiesat her new workplace.

When I go for giving an interview for a garment factory job, I look around to see how the surrounding is.
